Ibrahim is a Professor of Human
Anatomy. He holds an
MB,BS from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in Nigeria
(1982-87). He earned a masters of medical sciences degree and PhD
from the University of Sheffield in the united Kingdom
where he worked in the field of electron microscopy and infertility.
Ibrahim had earlier served as a lecturer in the faculty of medicine, Ahmadu
Bello University Zaria from where he moved to Bayero University
Kano. He had been the Head of Anatomy Department and Deputy Dean
Faculty of Medicine at Bayero University Kano from 1996-98.
Ibrahim is a council member of the Anatomical Society of Great
Britain & Ireland and a foundation member of the Academy of Medical
Educators of England.
During his career, he has been conferred a number of awards and
honors such as the highly competitive British Overseas Research
Scholarship (CVCP, 1992) and the Excellence in Teaching Award by the
Sultan Qaboos University Oman (2003).
A seasoned academic, Ibrahim has
taught in colleges of medicine located in three continent. He has
vast experience in medical curriculum planning, review and
implementation as well as other health professions education issues.
